Tasting notes: blueberry pie, rose, streusel, rye cereal, dried apple Axe Hole Whiskey honors my Minnesota family.
This bottle is for my grandma. She may not have descended from outlaws like my grandpa, but her pies were so good they should have been illegal. As a girl, she'd raid the wild blueberry patches in the woods with her sister, eating half the harvest before it ever made it home. The rest became blueberry pie. Those same wild blueberries grow right here in California, so this bottle shares a connection with my family's Midwestern roots in more ways than one.
Cocktails: Whiskey Sour, Old Fashioned, Whiskey Mule, Boulevardier, Whiskey Highball
