Tasting Notes: cherry, chocolate, caramel, brown butter, toffee, graham cracker, cream soda
Working with our neighbors at Firestone Walker, we crafted a unique mash that combines corn with chocolate barley and wheat. That chocolate barley brings bold, toasted flavors to this bourbon—aged three years in #4 char American oak barrels. The name "Axe Hole" traces back to Aaron's great-great-grandfather Bill Kiever, a Prohibition moonshiner whose operation ended when federal agents took axes to his still. This bourbon honors Bill's spirit—though we're keeping things legal these days.
Cocktail Suggestions: Old Fashioned, Whiskey Sour, Manhattan, Lion's Tail
